Priorities

Create new employment opportunities for all residents.

  • Created and sponsored county job fairs
  • Initiated the building of a recycling center/transportation hub at the former PennDot facility on Bennett Ave which will also provide employment opportunities for the intellectually and physically disabled.

Improve county facilities and infrastructure

  • Created a welcome center in Milford to support the tourism industry.
  • Reopened the Mott Street Bridge in Milford.
  • Developed an infrastructure program utilizing State matching funds to repair and replace county bridges and roads, most recently completing the repair of the Kimbles Bridge, and paving of Owego Turnpike. Future projects include repair or replacement of Springbrook Road Bridge, Shohola Creek Bridge, and Creek Road Bridge in Lehman.

Improve local government services and operational efficiency

  • Built a new modern and safe County Courthouse addition.
  • Implemented new software platforms and technology to create more efficient operations for county employees and improved delivery of services to residents and visitors.
  • Modernized and upgraded employee compensation and benefits packages to recruit and retain quality personnel.
  • Expanded veteran’s services by hiring a new Veterans Services Director and adding an assistant director to the department.
  • Developed a re-entry program to assist those incarcerated in our correctional facility.
  • Established Dickinson House of Child Advocacy Center for supporting families in partnership with DA Raymond Tonkin.

Ensure affordable housing exists for all members of our community.

  • Expanded the Drug Drop Box program to curtail availability of unused prescription drugs.
  • Joined the lawsuit against opioid manufacturers that resulted in funds for addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery.
  • Assisted in the creation of Hope for Pike, a program supporting families suffering with addiction.

Curb Opioid and Drug Addiction through new programs and services.

  • Conducted a county-wide housing study to identify housing needs.
  • Participated in the first shared housing program in the Commonwealth that is now a model for other counties.
  • Supported programs and investors to increase senior housing.

Provide critical medical resources, infrastructure, and programs.

  • Developed and implemented an Emergency Medical Services Matching Grant Program to improve ambulance response time and add additional services.
  • Negotiated relationships with medical providers to bring urgent care facilities to Pike County.
  • Created Pike County Medical Foundation and provided initial investment through American Rescue Plan Act funds, dedicated land and infrastructure with the goal to bring 24 hour emergency medical facilities to the county.
  • Developed an award-winning Tick-Borne Disease Task Force.
